The Golden Die Contest & Anthology
Sponsored by Metaphor Dice and Button Poetry
The Golden Die Contest will award a prize of $1,000 to the best poem written using Metaphor Dice. Additionally, a student winner will receive $500 and 25 sets of Metaphor Dice. All poems submitted to this contest will automatically be considered for publication in Poetry by Chance: An Anthology Powered by Metaphor Dice to be published by Button Poetry in 2023.
If you're not familiar with Metaphor Dice, they are a writing tool that randomly groups CONCEPTS, ADJECTIVES, and OBJECTS together to form metaphors and similes worthy of consideration and exploration (for example, "My father is a broken mirror"). You don't have to own a set of Metaphor Dice to enter the contest, but your poem must be based on words that exist on the actual dice. The complete list of the official words is available here.
